 I'm Sheila LaSella and I'm an Energy Healer & Reiki Practitioner, CranioSacral Therapist, Meditation Teacher, Polarity Therapist,  Animal Reiki Practitioner in the Let Animals Lead® method, and Connecticut State Licensed Massage Therapist.

I was drawn to holistic healing work because I wanted to spend my days assisting others with their healing. I have always been interested in anything that supports the spirit  in becoming whole and feel that this is our life purpose, whether we realize it on a conscious level or not.

I grew up in Connecticut, but wanderlust took me on many adventures around the world in my adult life. I feel fortunate to have crossed paths with some amazing people who lit the way for spiritual growth.

 I've been meditating regularly since 1997 spending two of those years meditating and studying full-time at  Gampo Abbey, a Buddhist monastery in Nova Scotia, Canada where I studied under Pema Chodron, who is  the Director, Principal Teacher and one of the founding monastics of the Abbey. I took my refuge vows and my Bodhisattva vows with Pema and served as her attendant when she was in residence.

I consider meditation and mindfulness to be the foundation of my life. Meditation  has allowed me to see the deepest parts of myself and to let go of what was causing pain and suffering. It is only when you become aware of your mind that you can make true lasting change and open your heart.

When not doing what I love at work, I enjoy spending time outdoors talking to the animals, trees, plants and flowers, who have so much deep wisdom to share with us (they've been on the Earth a lot longer than us!). I love reading and writing, and spending time in solitude, which recharges me more than anything. Listening to live music and dancing has always been a fun outlet for me too. And last, but definitely not least, indulging in all the glorious varieties of chocolate that this world has to offer!
